Who this is for
For runners, athletes, and active people who want to improve how their body performs.
This may be for you if you:
- Feel like you’ve hit a plateau
- Keep dealing with the same pains and/or injuries
- Notice one side doing more work than the other
- Want to improve your running or overall athletic performance
- Want your training to translate better to real-world movement
Why biomechanics matter
You can have plenty of strength and fitness and still have inefficient movement patterns. If your body isn’t coordinating movement well, adding more weight, distance, or intensity may simply reinforce those patterns.
Instead of only looking at how much you are doing, we prioritize how well you are actually doing it. The goal is to improve the way your body moves so you can better use the strength and fitness you already have.
How we approach performance
We build you from the ground up by assessing your gait and posture. Every sport is built on the same fundamental human movement patterns: standing, walking, running, and throwing.
The way you stand and walk creates the foundation for how you move through bigger, more demanding movements. If there are weaknesses or compensations in these basic patterns, they can carry over into how you run, jump, lift, throw, or change direction.
Your sport may require you to run, lift, jump, throw, change direction, or produce force repeatedly. We want your training to prepare your body for those demands, not just make individual muscles stronger.
As a certified Functional Patterns Human Biomechanics Specialist, I help you build better movement mechanics from the foundation up to support more efficient, long-term athletic performance.
Gait is where most of it shows up
Running is the most repeated loaded movement most athletes do. Filming it usually answers the question faster than any conversation about training history.
How I approach it
What athletes ask me
Will this replace my sport training, or work alongside it?+
For most athletes, it works alongside what you already do. FP focuses on the movement foundation underneath your sport, things like biomechanics, posture, coordination, and control. We can use your assessment to identify areas that may need more attention so your training works together rather than against itself.
I am not injured. Is this for me?+
Yes. Most of the athletes I see are not injured, they are stuck. Not being hurt is a good position to train from, not a reason to wait.
How does this help reduce injury risk?+
Repetitive training can reinforce movement imbalances and place uneven stress on the body. We assess how you stand, walk, and move, then work on the patterns that may be contributing to that stress. Our aim is to improve how you move and handle load, although no training approach can guarantee you won’t get injured.
